IPPT - I Perth Personal Trainer – Dan Baz originally from West Yorkshire, England, UK - Now residing in Perth, Western Australia with over 20 years experience in lean mass gain, weight loss/fat burning, strength training and bodybuilding.
My passion for fitness came from a young age when as a child my parents use to attend a Health Club and use the fitness facilities. The gym floor was off limits but the pool, sauna, steam room and kid’s classes were good to go. I was happy to use those facilities but where I wanted to be was in the gym. From an early age I achieved a black belt in Shotokan Karate and competed at a national level. This martial art taught me discipline and gave me an early onset of training principles. I was still too young to access the gym so I purchased a door mounted chin bar and my first set of weights which came with plates, dumbbells and barbells. These came with programs which I would perform routinely 3-4 times a week together with chin ups in the doorway. At the age of 16 I was finally allowed to join a proper gym and from there I would start training. After a few months I started with my first Personal Trainer and from that point forward I continued to learn. I used the knowledge passed on from Personal Trainers and read various journals to always continue to learn and progress. I soon came to realise you didn’t just earn the results on the gym floor but your overall nutrition and lifestyle was just as important if not more important for recovery, results and growth.
Based on my experience over the last 15 years I have learnt Consistency, Commitment and Knowledge is the key to achieving your goals. This doesn’t only apply to myself which I still hold myself accountable to everyday but to my clients also. I believe in "confuse the body" techniques which will result in fat loss, lean muscle gains and overall improved body composition. Through confusing the body with different exercise sets, order and type our bodies always have to improve to maintain the program.
